The first website I chose that I really enjoy is The Kindergarten Smorgasboard! I love how this website is set up and is clearly labeled so visitors can easily locate what they are searching for. There is a whole section in Mr. Greg's blog dedicated to classroom management. He has fantastic ideas on everything from classroom lighting, to scheduling, to having an end of the day dance party. He even posts his own schedule he created and shares how he arranges his own classroom as well. A big factor for me in being able to tell if a teacher who has a website cares about their students and what they are doing is if their website is appealing, organized, and reflects the grade they teach. This website definitely does that and you can tell that he is super dedicated about his job and cares about the children. The one thing I love about this teacher in particular is how he goes out of his way to make things interesting in the classroom, such as placing colorful LED lights around his room and having dance parties at the end of every day. These are things I would love to use in my future classroom.

The second website I chose is Kindergarten Kindergarten. While staying with my theory about how a website reflects the teacher, this one screams dedication and creativity as well. Similar to Kindergarten Smorgasboard, there as several ideas on different classroom management techniques. One that I love is super creative and clearly took a lot of time and dedication. She made a book to teach children the right and wrong way to use books. The book shows pages marked up or torn in different ways and shows how the animals in the book are very sad, but at the end of the book they are happy because now children know what not to do. She even allows readers to download a copy so they do not have to make one like she did. I love the ideas this teacher has!

The next website is a classroom website for Ms. Bakers Kindergarten Class. She has on her website their class schedule, rules, supply list, lunch menu, activities, and more! I can tell her classroom has a great learning environment not just by reviewing the schedule and rules, but because she included on the website the reading program they do in class. They have daily reading every day which include reading to themselves, reading to someone else, writing, word work, listening to books on ipads, and using reading technology. While children are doing these tasks the teacher has a chance to work in small groups to get more one-on-one time.

Lastly, I chose another classroom website that is Mrs. Scelia’s first grade classroom website. This teacher also lists the class schedule while also including sections of the website that go over different subjects the children learn, such as reading, spelling, and common core math and reading units. I love that this teacher included her entire schedule on the website for parents to refer to, including specials, lunch, and recess times. My favorite part of how she does her schedule is that she includes “WIN” time, which stands for “What I Need”. It provides additional time for students to get reinforcement for math and reading. This is something all the grades in their school does and teachers work together to put children in groups where they can get their additional help with a reading specialist and curriculum specialist. This shows a great deal of dedication and care from the teachers as they are working together to set aside time to help their students in these areas.
